The following organisations can help you find out more information about homelessness issues.

Reporting a rough sleeper

If you are concerned about people sleeping rough in your local area, please get in touch with Streetlink on 0300 500 0914 or use their online reporting tool.

Homeless Link

You can search Homeless Link for information on over 9,000 services – hostels, day centres and other advice and support services for homeless people and those at risk of homelessness.

Shelter and Crisis

National charities Shelter and Crisis can provide advice and guidance on issues relating to housing and homelessness.

Call Shelter’s free housing advice helpline on 0808 800 4444. Shelter’s helpline is open 8am–8pm on weekdays and 8am–5pm on weekends, 365 days a year. Calls are free from UK landlines and all major UK mobile operators. Other networks may charge.

Crisis has a number of centres around the country, offering free advice to those in need of accommodation. Find your nearest advice centre in the link below.

Citizens Advice

Your local Citizens Advice can provide confidential, impartial and independent advice on a range of issues including housing in your local area.

National Domestic Violence Helpline (24 hours)

If you or someone you know needs advice on domestic violence, call the National Domestic Violence (24 hours) Helpline on 0808 2000 247 or visit their website below.

Help with drugs

For information and advice on drugs, including the latest on so-called “legal highs”, visit the FRANK website. The law regarding Psychoactive Substances changed in 2016.

Help with money and finances

For information and advice on money and finances, including benefits and budgeting, visit the Government’s free Money Advice Service.
