Other homelessness support charities and organisations in Winchester

  • A2Dominion Care & Support - aims to provide housing related support and care services, to enable people to live independent lives. Floating Support workers are available at the WCNS to support our guests.
  • Keystone - temporary accommodation intended to be a stepping stone to finding a permanent home. There are five houses in various parts of Central Winchester which together offer 26 Bedsits. Anyone can apply so long as they are over 18 and in need of a room.
  • Trinity Day Centre
  • Winchester Basics Bank - local charity which provides emergency donations of food and clothing to needy people in the city.
  • The Olive Branch - counselling: aims to provide a professional service showing God’s love and care for each individual.
  • Emmaus - opening soon in Winchester! Emmaus Communities offer homeless people a home, work and the chance to rebuild their lives in a supportive environment.

Supported Housing, local

  • Winchester Churches Housing Group Limited - Bed sit accommodation for single homeless people aged between 18-65. Shared communal facilities in up to 6 unit houses. Not suitable for anyone needing a high level of care or pregnant women.
  • Atlantic Housing Hostel - AHL and its sister company First Atlantic Housing Limited (FAHL) has five innovative schemes that house single homeless people in low support accommodation. It is designed to enable residents to live independently but help is available when it’s needed.
  • Langley House Trust - 16 projects across the country, arranged into 6 broad types: Fresh Start Projects, Drug Rehabilitation Centres, Resettlement Projects (including our Women's Projects ), Residential Training Centres, Registered Care Homes, and Homeless Projects
  • Home Group - providers of affordable and supported housing for people in the UK.

  • Homeless Link - the national membership organisation for frontline homelessness agencies in England. Their mission is "to be a catalyst that will help to bring an end to homelessness".
  • Homeless UK - Information on over 8,000 services, including hostels, day centres and other advice and support services for homeless people.
  • Crisis - help for homeless people.
  • Shelter - Shelter helps more than 170,000 people a year fight for their rights, get back on their feet, and find and keep a home.
  • The Big Issue - News and current affairs magazine written by professional journalists and sold on the streets by homeless people.

  • Job Centre Plus - Help and advice on job hunting and extra support, as well as advice on making a claim for benefit.
  • Advice Guide - the Citizen's Advice Bureau's guide to benefits and working.
  • Advice Now - very accessible advice on everything from family, work, benefits, money problems, to housing.
  • Consumer Credit Counseling Service - free confidential advice and support about money.
  • Money Basics - sound, impartial advice about the basics of money management.
