Meet the Directors

The WCNS directors are Sarah Lloyd (Chairman), James Dickens, Jo James, Marion Fletcher (Treasurer). Roger Outlaw, Sandra Sawyer, Dr. Julia Sinclair.

All directors are themselves regular volunteers at the WCNS.

Marion Fletcher has been involved with the Nightshelter since its very early days. She started helping with cooking and cleaning in Colebrook Street. Marion taught Mathematics at Peter Symonds' College from 1977 to 1999, and has been treasurer of the Nightshelter since the early 1990s. She and her husband Brian are regular evening cooks and enjoy providing meals that are appreciated by the guests. Marion is also a church warden at St Barnabas Church Weeke, and treasurer for two church groups.  
Jo James trained as a nurse and then a midwife. Whilst working as a midwifery lecturer she gained a PhD from the University of Southampton. She is Emeritus Professor of Midwifery Research and Development at Bournemouth University and a member of the congregation of St Andrew's with All Saints.
Sarah Lloyd (Chairman) has been a volunteer at the Winchester Churches Nightshelter since moving to Hampshire in 1995, has been a director since 2004, and Chairman since 2007. Sarah works full-time as an academic publisher, has experience within many voluntary organisations in the area, and is a member of St Michael’s church, Cheriton in the Upper Itchen Benefice.  
Roger Outlaw - retired Health Care manager and Youth Group leader, local councillor for twenty years, active for many years at St Paul's church, Winchester.  

Sandra Sawyer - worked with the homeless as a volunteer with the Simon Community in London a number of years ago. Following her retirement from a busy career as an HR Manager, she decided to return to working  with the homeless, and joined WCNS as a volunteer three years ago. She has been a director of WCNS for the past year, and continues as a volunteer.
