We need someone friendly, organised, flexible and with great interpersonal skills which are essential for this role that can involve working with vulnerable people.

Current unpaid volunteering opportunities:

Specialist Volunteers - Directors

Additional specialist volunteers are needed to join our team of directors.  We are looking for people with experience in the following areas:  Substance Misuse, Mental Health, Health and Safety and PR/communications.

We are seeking certain skills, as well as time (monthly meeting attendance) and enthusiasm, in order to provide the best expertise to govern our Nightshelter, so we will be subsequently performing a formal selection process.  If you know of anyone who might help us, do please chat with them and submit applications to the Manager c/o admin@wcns.org.uk if they are interested.

Allotment Volunteers

Some of you may be aware that one of our project workers is now working with residents on activities beyond the Nightshelter. Now we have the offer of an allotment in Edington Lane, Abbots Barton. The long term aim is to grow vegetables that we will use at the Nightshelter. The project would be therapeutic for residents as it has been proven that working outdoors and on gardening projects promotes a feeling of well being.

We need some volunteers who would work alongside residents initially clearing the site and preparing it for planting. All that is needed on your part is enthusiasm and willingness to involve residents in the activity. If you or someone you know might be interested in helping please email george@wcns.org.uk.
